Coaching…
the term is lended from sports…along with much of the techniques used-only a little more refined now…the goal is to make all players feel good about themselves so that they excel/give their best in every game, until they reach the top…the process is full of practice, effort and commitment from players, preparation/planning and good/thorough questioning from coaches.
in a corporate environment, it is all about creating a trusting relationship, supporting the development/growth of an executive by posing challenging questions, bringing the best out of him/her, acknowledging all good results and motivating the executive towards what is conceived by him/her as success/happiness/growth in profession and life.
in many ways it is an organisational counseling practice, only it does not focus on past behaviours but on growth targets…it is a challenging path to learning oneself, and improving wholistically…
there is professional coaching and life coaching…and a lot of contemporary readings to enrich your knowledge on this subject.
enjoy, xenia
